The ASSURE model

In this lesson we learned about the ASSURE model.

I knew from prior reading that the ASSURE model was an acronym for a series of steps

 What I didn't know was how the to use the ASSURE model in my lessons.
What I learned was the ASSURE model integrates the use of technology in lesson planning and it utilizes specific materials, media and methods. The instructor have to know the students' capabilities so therefore an analysis of the students is important. The objectives must be clear and must be in accordance to the learning styles of the students. The ASSURE model allows for student participation hence the reason for the analysis also to be done so the instructor can better incorporate the right media in the lesson to ensure student participation. I was also introduced to google forms which I never knew existed I always thought that gmail was only used for sending and receiving emails. So a series of steps was demonstrated so as to show how to create a test using the google forms. I also learned how to send the test and to edit and answer something in google form. I was further interested to know how does the information get saved and where. It was informed by the lecturer that there were store in the clouds. So I went to do my  own investigations on what the cloud is.

So from my investigation the clouds is a storage facility where devices connected to the internet can store documents, music, pictures and so on.This can be retrieved at ones own convenience and from anywhere on any device in the world. The clouds is highly protected and allow for privacy of information stored by users.


What I would like to further discover is how to actually use the ASSURE model in my business classes.

  Question:  Planning for instruction is the foundation of every excellent lesson. Including ICTs in the instruction process is even more valuable.  What do you think about those statements?

Answer: As a teacher it is most critical to plan lessons in order to have an effective class and learning takes place. The use of ICT in the instruction process has been seen as valuable because it helps the teachers to be creative and are able to use forms of technology in the classroom. The teachers are better able to reach the different learning styles in the classroom for example videos can be shown to enhance visual and audible learning styles. Allowing the students to be manipulative using the technology could too cater to tactile learners. The teachers can use technology through the aid of the internet and communicate with students, send additional readings/ notes, and even forms of assessments. ICT in the classroom has shown many benefits to improving learning therefore planning and the integration of ICT can be of significant help to the learning process.
